Chinese elm Ulmus parvifolia
32-0052-A
Native to eastern Asia.Height: 74 Spread: 80 DBH: 58.6 Pennsylvania State Champion This huge tree, growing next to the Swan Pond, is a gnarled old specimen of an increasingly familiar tree. Its flaky bark, good fall color, and fine-textured foliage make this an excellent addition to any landscape. This elm, a very resilient tree, is resistant to Dutch elm disease and is finding wider use as an urban street tree and replacement for the American elm. |
