Native to China, Korea, and Japan. Pennsylvania State Champion. Like its botanical cousins the elms, the Japanese zelkovas are often used as a street tree. Its beautiful bark, vase-shape, and wonderful red-orange fall color make this a great selection as a shade tree. This state champion has been growing at the Arboretum since the Morrises' time.
Due to weather concerns, all activities for Cherry Blossom Festival on April 9 are canceled. We will keep our fingers crossed for a great event next Saturday, April 16.
The Arboretum is open as usual. Click here for hours.
