Tree Canopy Conference

Tree Canopy Conference

Date and Location:

Thursday, October 13, 2016
8:30AM - 5:00PM

Haverford College, Stokes Hall Auditorium

Why is Tree Canopy So Important? A healthy tree canopy provides important ecosystem services, including air pollution removal, storm water runoff reduction, and building energy conservation. Abundant tree canopy provides habitat for wildlife, and also has a positive impact on mental health and well-being, community cohesion, and economic stimuli. At this conference, we will look at tree canopy preservation and reduction both nationally and locally, and consider some of the greatest threats communities are facing as they try to preserve tree canopy cover.
