Madeleine K. Butcher Sculpture Garden This outdoor gallery was named for local sculptor and Arboretum benefactor Madeleine K. Butcher. Inaugurated in 1986, the pieces in the permanent collection ("American Bull", "St. Francis", and "Inside Out") are supplemented by exhibitions that change periodically to feature the work of various sculptors. The statue pictured is “American Bull” by Lorraine Vail (American, born 1952) and was created in 1981 from resin-bonded bronze.
