Play a key role at the Arboretum by welcoming visitors and leading tours.

Four weeks of comprehensive training in adult and children’s tours includes techniques in “understanding your audience” and “going with the flow” followed by 2 month apprenticeship. Learn from experienced guides by following tours. Get practical experience by leading tours.
Week 1: Guide orientation and Arboretum history
Week 2: Children’s tour experience
Week 3: Non-touring programs and other volunteer opportunities with the guides
Week 4: Adult tour experience and basic botany
Individuals from all backgrounds are encouraged to become volunteer guides and help make a positive contribution to the Arboretum and the community at large.
The class will take a “subject related” tour of the Arboretum every session, please dress appropriately.

Members: Free
Non-members: $50 for one-year membership
