Native to northwest China. On the edge of our Japanese Hill Garden stands one of our most visited and revered pines, the lacebark pine. Its fine-textured foliage gives an airiness to its crown and its colorfully flaking bark is always a pleasure to see. Even the exposed roots show off the flaking bark. A slow-growing and drought-tolerant species, our specimen is one of the largest of its kind in the Delaware Valley. Lacebark pines are often used in Chinese gardens and are a good selection for small gardens.
