Morris Arboretum Video and Photo Contest

Get your cameras ready for the 1st annual video and photo contest at the Morris Arboretum!

We want you to capture the people, plants and places at the Arboretum and share

them with us. The contest is open to visitors of all ages and skill levels, so show

us your talent. All entries must be taken onsite at the Morris Arboretum and relate

to one of the following categories:

Photos
• People
• Plants
• Place
Videos
• Art
• Science
• Humanities
• Education & Learning

Enter the Contest

To enter the contest, follow these steps

 

1 - Pay the entrance fee online by clicking on the "Click here to enter" link.

2 - Email the Entry Form and Release Form and your pictures (or link to your video) to - photocontest@morrisarboretum.org

A juried panel will select winners of each category as stated above. Winners will receive:
• Exhibition at Arboretum’s Widener Visitor Center

during the late summer / fall of 2010
• Possible inclusion in the Arboretum 2011 calendar and

Arboretum publications with photo credit.

• All photos will be showcased on our Flickr site!

Arboretum Dollars can be used toward classes at the Morris Arboretum or at The Shop

 

 

Submission

There is a $15 fee to enter the contest that is good for up to

three (3) photos OR one (1) video (up to 90 seconds long).

Payment can be made online or by a check made

out to Morris Arboretum if you are mailing/dropping off your submission.

 

Details and Rules

• Acceptable formats for photos: JPEG/JPG only, 5 MB or smaller, at least 1,600 pixels in either the vertical or horizontal direction.
• Photographs cannot be previously published.
• Videos should be :30 to :90 seconds in length and either Video DVD (to play on a DVD player), Data CD/DVD (.avi or .mov format, preferably a minimum of 720 x 480 pixels). Videos can also be hosted on an external site (e.g. YouTube or Flickr) and you can send us a link.
• No photos or videos may contain images or words that infringe on someone’s rights or contain unlawful matter.
• All entries will become the property of the Morris Arboretum of the University of Pennsylvania with all rights to the reproduction of the photo / design. Photographers will be given photo credit if the photos are used by Morris Arboretum.
• Contest ends at noon EST on June 30, 2010
• Morris Arboretum staff and their immediate families may not participate in the contest.
• No copyrighted material may be used.
• You may enter the contest as many times as you would like as long as you pay the entrance fee with each submission.
• Photo Release Forms, signed by anyone else who appears in the video, must be provided and can on our website.
• The completed and signed Entry Form and Release Form must accompany all submissions.

• All pictures / videos must be taken on site at the Morris Arboretum.
