Tour length - 2 hours
Curriculum components-PDE: 2.2, 2.3, 2.9, 3.1


A hands-on explanation of the way in which mathematics are integral to planning and planting a vegetable garden

Classroom Activities!

Students will:

  • Measure garden plots using standard tools
  • Predict the number of plants that can be grown in the plots
  • Organize data in chart form
  • Transfer data from models to garden plots using ratios and scales
  • Estimate profits of harvest based on costs of plants and selling prices
