Plant Reproduction - Seed Formation
Grades - 5th - 6th Tour length - 1.5 hours Curriculum components - PDE: 3.2, 3.3, 4.3, 4.6 An up-close exploration of the inner workings of a flower and the magical creation process of seeds Classroom Activities!
Students will: Analyze the structure of a flower and the purpose of its parts Work in teams and use hand lenses to observe and chart flower characteristics Be detectives in order to predict the pollination method of a plant based on floral characteristics Name the benefits of pollination and fertilization Describe the process of seed formation

Seed dispersal in the Arboretum is best displayed from spring into the summer
