Major Trees

Japanese zelkova
Zelkova serrata

32-0504-A
Height: 84
Spread: 92
DBH: 56.7

Native to China, Korea, and Japan. Pennsylvania State Champion Like its botanical cousins the elms, the Japanese zelkovas are often used as a street tree. Its beautiful bark, vase-shape, and wonderful red-orange fall color make this a great selection as a shade tree. This state champion has been growing at the Arboretum since the Morrisses' time.
