Major Trees

Trident maple
Acer buergerianum

32-1676-A
Height: 70
Spread:76
DBH: 40.1

Native to eastern China and Japan. This unusual maple is grown widely in Asia as a street tree. Our plant marks the lower entrance to the Japanese inspired Overlook Garden, which contains many Japanese plants. Rarely grown in cultivation, it is well worth further planting for its fine bark, beautiful fall color, and durability.
