Penn Children’s Center encourages interaction with the surrounding community. The Center participates in community outreach activities such as inviting children from local abuse shelters to visit us, as well as trips to area nursing homes that provide intergenerational activities for our children and for older adults.
Field trips are another fun activity at the Penn Children's Center. Past excursions have been made to local fire and police stations, the Please Touch Museum, the New Jersey State Aquarium, the University Museum, and local theaters for plays and musicals. Other special programs include Parents' Orientation and Pot Luck Dinner, Thanksgiving Parent and Child Luncheon, Winter Celebration, Festival of Nations, and a graduation celebration for the pre-K class.
