USPS ADDRESSING REQUIREMENTS The United States Postal Service (USPS) has specific requirements governing mail addressing. The Postal Service has introduced new bottom up address scanning, where the SECOND line from the bottom of the address is scanned for the exact location. In order to qualify for reduced postage, all University mail must conform to the current USPS addressing standards. Below are examples of proper automation compatible addresses.
