Special Services

Penn Mail offers a variety of services to the Penn community. These include:

CASS (CODING ACCURACY SUPPORT SYSTEM) CERTIFICATION: We ask that you give Penn Mail your list on disk, in a particular format you may have, and allow us five (5) working days to process the data. This service will insure that all the addresses on your list do exist and that they are properly formatted, automation compatible and contain the proper 9-digit zip code. Penn Mail will return your disk along with a printout showing your accuracy percentage as well as any rejected files from your list. Duplicate files may also be purged.

FOLDING/INSERTING With the proper dimensions, Penn Mail Service is equipped to offer the University Community its expertise in folding and inserting certain materials to meet our customers' needs.

LABELING/TABBING Automated labeling and tabbing are also available.

CUSTOM ADVERTISING INDICIA Departments can create their own custom logos for their mailings. Make announcements, promote special events and programs or remind your audience to "save the date."

WHY THESE SERVICES ARE IMPORTANT The University spends $3 million annually on domestic postage. Of that, approximately $175,000 is spent on postage for mail that does not reach its intended party due to poor or inaccurate addressing and labeling. Even if your department does not generate a large volume of mail, it can benefit from our List Management program (certification of lists, the use of the ASR endorsement and the subsequent data correction) and reduce general University postage costs.
