How do I apply for a parking permit?

What information will I need to apply for a parking permit?
You'll need your valid PennCard and car information including year, make/model, and license plate number.

Operating hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Monday thru Friday.

How much will a parking permit cost?

  • Daily parking (A) - $1,327 for the academic year (student parking only) or $1,768 annually
  • Remote/commuter parking (B) - $856 for the academic year (student parking only) or $1,138 annually
  • Evening/weekend parking (C) - $425.00 for the academic year (student parking only) or $564 annually

What if I have a daily parking permit and need to leave my car overnight?

Will parking be affected on holidays or breaks?
Permit holders shouldn't experience any interruptions during holidays or breaks. However, visitors may find that some garages or lots are closed to the public during these times.

Will my parking be affected during special events?
Yes, during some special events it may be necessary to redirect vehicles to another lot or garage. Parking attendants will be available to direct you to a different facility.

Where should I tell my visitors to park?
Visitor parking is available in the following locations, indicated on the parking map as Visitor (yellow) Parking. The daily flat rate for non-permit holders who park in Penn lots averages approximately $15.

  • South Street and Convention Avenue
  • Between 33rd, 34th, and Spruce Streets
  • E. 34th St. between Ludlow & Chestnut Streets
  • N.E. corner 38th & Walnut Streets
  • N.W. corner of 40th and Walnut Streets

What if I no longer need my parking permit? Am I entitled to refund?
If you are making parking payments through payroll deduction, please return the sticker and card key (if issued) to our office and you will be taken off payroll as of that date. If you paid by cash, check or credit card, a pro-rated refund will be processed based on the date you return your sticker and card key. A check for pro-rated refunds will be issued to the permit holder within thirty (30) days.

What do I do if I forget my parking card?
Please call our office (215-898-8667) and we will advise where to park in the interim period.

What if I lost my parking card?
Please visit the Parking Office for a new card. There will be a fee for lost parking cards depending on the type of card key.

I purchased a new car. What do I do?

A new permit will be issued. You must bring your old sticker to Penn Parking at 3401 Walnut Street, Suite 447A during business hours (8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Monday thru Friday) and a replacement will be issued. Remember to attach the new sticker on your car immediately to avoid towing. If you are unable to return the old sticker, there is a $25.00 fee charged to replace the sticker.

How do I renew my parking permit?
Faculty and staff will be notified each year to update and review their parking profile. Payroll deductions automatically roll over until notified by you to cancel.

    To replace a damaged sticker, you must bring your old sticker to Penn Parking at 3401 Walnut Street, Suite 447A during business hours (Mon-Fri 8:30-5:00 pm; Wednesday 8:30-3:00 pm.) and a replacement will be issued. Remember to attach the new sticker on your car immediately to avoid towing.
