You can use your PennCard to gain access to the services listed below.

University Services
Athletics (call 215.898.6151 or visit
website)
Students can use their PennCards to receive free admission to many Penn
sporting events.
Building Access
Many administrative and academic buildings and offices require a valid
PennCard for access at certain hours. Contact the department or building
administrator for more information.
Bookstore (call 215.898.7595 or visit
website)
Students may use their PennCards at the University Bookstore to charge
purchases to their PennCash account or Student Financial Services Account.
Computer Connection (call 215.898.3282 or visit
website)
A valid PennCard is required to determine your eligibility to purchase
at the Computer Connection. Students may also use their PennCards to
charge Computer Connection purchases to their PennCash account or Student Financial Services
Account.
Dining Services (call 215.898.7585 or visit
website)
Students choosing a Dining Services meal plan will use their valid PennCard
to access to dining halls and to track how many weekly meals remain.
Once you complete enrollment for meal plan contracts, your PennCard
is automatically validated for entry into the dining halls.

Institute for Contemporary Art (ICA) (visit

Admission to the Institute of Contemporary Art is free with a valid
PennCard.

Penn faculty, staff, and students must show or swipe a valid PennCard
to enter many of the Penn Libraries. A valid PennCard may also be required
to borrow books, use reserve materials, use a library's computer labs,
etc.
Access to University Libraries is generally unrestricted, but a valid
PennCard must be shown. However, access policies vary by library and
may change during reading and exam periods. Restrictions on access to
a particular library may be necessary because of seating limitations,
reduced staffing levels or for reasons of security and safety.

Free to members. Students, faculty and staff of the University of Pennsylvania
are admitted free with a valid Penn Card.
Recreation (call 215.898.6100 or visit
website)
A valid PennCard is required to use all recreation facilities and services,
including access, lockers, and towels and to purchase membership.
Residence Hall Access (call 215.573.DORM or visit
website)
A valid PennCard is required to enter all campus residence halls. At
certain times of the day, residence hall doors are locked and access
is limited to building residents.
Guest passes are available from the reception desks of all buildings,
are valid for up to 4 days at a time, and will allow the guest into
a host building when accompanied by a PennCard holder. Guest passes
are only issued to hosts who live in that particular residence hall.
Hosts must present a Penn Card to verify their residency.
Student Financial Services (SFS) (call 215.898.1988 or visit
website)
Students who are currently registered and in good financial standing
have an SFS internal line of credit available to them and may use their
valid PennCards to purchase goods and services at several University
locations. Charges for these purchases are automatically posted to the
student's SFS account and are subject to the same payment policies as

Penn Transit Services operate a variety of transportation services for
members of the University community, including students, faculty, staff,
and their families. These comprehensive services have been developed
to provide effective, efficient, and safe integrated transit on and
around campus within specific service boundaries.
Transit services are free of charge to all University of Pennsylvania
community members holding a valid PennCard. All riders must show their
valid PennCard to the driver upon entering the vehicle. Drivers will
refuse entry to any person not showing a valid PennCard.
Those riders whose PennCards have been lost, stolen, or forgotten will
need to call 898-RIDE from a Transit Stop or from their residence to
obtain permission to use the system. Valid PennCard holders may be accompanied
by up to two (2) guests provided prior approval (call 215.898.RIDE)
has been obtained.
Wharton Reprographics (call 898-7600 or visit
website)
Students can use their PennCards at Wharton Reprographics to charge
purchases to their PennCash account or their Student Financial Services
Account.
Additional Services
Passport-Type Photos
PennCard holders who have a digital photo in the PennCard database may
purchase photo quality prints of that picture at the PennCard Center
for a charge of $5.00. The photo to be used will be obtained from the
picture on file. If you want to change the picture we have on file,
there will be an additional $20.00 charge for the prints.
Please Note: These digital photos may not be suitable for obtaining
legal documents such as passports or visas.
PennCash
PennCash is a convenient way to make cash-free purchases with your PennCard.
Anyone with an active PennCard automatically has access to a PennCash
account. To activate this account they just need to add value. See our
PennCash page for for more information.
PennCard for Banking
Students, faculty, and staff can now use their PennCards as ATM cards and as bank debit cards.

In brief:
Students can link their PennCards to a checking account from either
PNC Bank or the Student Federal Credit Union.
Staff and faculty can link their cards with a checking account from
PNC Bank.
