University’s Paper Partners Awarded Forest Stewardship Council Certification
Through its directed buy program with Lindenmeyr Munroe, Penn can purchase paper from companies that have been awarded certification from the Forest Stewardship Council. The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is a nonprofit organization devoted to encouraging the responsible management of the world’s forests. FSC sets high standards that ensure forestry is practiced in an environmentally responsible, socially beneficial, and economically viable way. (For more information about the Forest Stewardship Council, go to www.fscus.org.)
Through distributor Lindenmeyr Munroe, Penn works with coated and uncoated stock partners, Stora Enso (www.storaenso.com) and Finch Papers (www.finchpaper.com), respectively. Both Stora Enso and Finch have also received FSC certification.
Purchasing through the directed buy program is both environmentally and fiscally responsible. Penn receives preferred pricing from Stora Enso and Finch and the University receives volume rebate from the distributor. |
