Print Procurement
Publication Services manages relationships with printers throughout the region. Our knowledge of printing specifications, technologies, pricing, and quality standards allows us to manage all aspects of a printed piece. Account managers are knowledgeable about each of our vendors' equipment and capabilities, which is reflected in their recommendations for any given print project. Because we buy a large volume of printing, we are able to get volume discounts. Our directed buy program with a paper distributor results in a volume-driven rebate to the University. Through many of our vendor relationships, we honor the University's goal for economic inclusion.
Competitive Bidding
All print procurement handled through Publication Services automatically meets the University's competitive bidding requirements. All print purchases of $5,000 or more are subject to the same competitive bid policy as other commodities. Penn's Purchasing Services reviews all print purchase order requests to ensure compliance with this policy.
Dedicated Account Management
Account managers are assigned to specific clients so that they can both understand and anticipate your needs. They are your point of contact throughout the life of the project.
All account managers have extensive backgrounds in production and account management at advertising agencies and printing companies that served both commercial and not-for-profit clients. Besides managing your work, they are consultants to you for your publishing needs.
