New Approach to Campaign Art
With the impending election, it's interesting to think about the different ways design impacts the campaigns and election process. In most recent campaigns, the graphic design approach has been focused on candidate's name or portrait. The treatment is usually glossy, saturated color.
An old propaganda style has made a new appearance with inclusion of various artistic posters created for the Obama campaign. The artists/designers style blend retro textures and styles with a modern design ethics. It's much more artistic and the one-word message is simple but powerful.
The message may not appeal to all voters, but the new graphic design approach has a definite appeal to the art communities.

Publication Services Partner in the News
In an industry where demand for environmentally conscious products is high, Publication Services chooses printing partners who go the extra mile when it comes to reducing the University’s carbon footprint. Pearl Pressman Liberty (PPL), a long-time partner of Penn Publication Services, knows that good environmental decisions are also good business decisions. That’s why joining ENERGY STAR® for small business was such an easy-and profitable-choice for this small business. In just one month, PPL completed energy-efficient lighting upgrades that are now producing savings of over $21,000 a year. Furthermore, the energy reductions from these upgrades are equivalent to removing 28 cars from U.S. highways, or planting 56 acres of trees in U.S. forests.
ENERGY STAR is a joint program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy helping us all save money and protect the environment through energy efficient products and practices. Results are already adding up. Americans, with the help of ENERGY STAR, saved enough energy in 2007 alone to avoid greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to those from 27 million cars — all while saving $16 billion on their utility bills.
Ask Publication Services about how we can help you reduce your impact on the environment through responsible vendor selection.
