Saving Money by Doing it Yourself?
In this tough economy, many question if designing a piece on their own is a feasible option. Although you could never be as creative as our team of professional designers, it is possible to save money by designing your own brochures. Please be advised, there is a great deal more that goes into the design of brochure than words and images. There is a good chance you know nothing about the correct file format or even what color options you should use, so by thinking you are saving money you may actually have to commit additional funds and time to have a printer correct your files before it is suitable for printing. So do yourself a favor and come to us first when you need to have something designed.

New Branding Standards for Penn Medicine
On February 9th, the CEO of University of Pennsylvania Health Systems/Penn Medicine announced that in the next few months, the Health System, Medical School, and other health care entities of the University of Pennsylvania will begin communicating under a single brand:
Penn Medicine
A branding guide has been developed to provide direction of how to use the Penn Medicine logo and order stationery supplies and brochures for both the School of Medicine and the Health System. This guide can be accessed online at www.pennmedicine.org/branding. It includes a new PowerPoint template for slide presentations, and an electronic signature for email communications. Over the coming months, additional guidelines will be developed for web communications, signage, and other special applications.
New stationery templates were supplied to Maximum Graphics for implementation on the on-line ordering system and will be ready for online ordering in 2-3 weeks. In the interim, Maximum is handling the requests off-line.

Printing and the Economy
If you are concerned about your printing budget, Publication Services has many ideas and suggestions about ways to print smarter. There are many ways to reduce costs such as changing to a more economical stock, altering the size of a piece so it runs more efficiently on press, or reducing page counts. There are also some online options that, depending on your audience, may be a good alternative to your printed piece. Please contact your account manager to discuss how we can help you stretch your publication dollars.
