New Face In Advertising
If you are not already aware--- there has been a changing of the guard in Advertising Services. While we are sorry to see Lauren Hamilton leave the University after more than 11 years of service, we fondly welcome Monica Kanninen as her more than able replacement. Monica comes to Penn with a strong background in advertising and media planning from Harmelin Media.
Please join us in welcoming her to our team.

Custom Holiday Cards
The thoughtfulness behind an act of giving really shines through when your holiday card has a personal touch. October is the perfect time to have your custom Penn holiday card created. Chose from our various snowy campus photos or have a graphic created that represents your department best.

Changes ToThe Move Update For Bulk Mail
Last November the Post Office updated its standards for bulk mail, requiring mailing lists to be periodically checked against the USPS National Change of Address (NCOA) Database. A new stipulation will go into effect in January of 2010, whereby a postage penalty fee of $0.07 per piece will be applied if more than 30 percent of your addresses were not updated. The easiest way to avoid this penalty (and to avoid wasting money on mail that never reaches its destination) is to make sure your mailing piece is addressed by a lettershop who will run your mailing list through the appropriate software, in compliance with USPS regulations. If you address your bulk mailing yourself, you are not compliant. Speak to your Publication Services account manager for more information on how to avoid penalties while getting the most impact from your mailing.
For more information about mailing standards, please contact Denise McShea at dmcshea@upenn.edu.
