Sun Solaris Information

Solaris, by Sun Microsystems, is a 64 and 32-bit UNIX operating
environment for the SPARC or Intel platforms. It offers center-class
reliability, availability and serviceability at a fraction of the
cost of a mainframe.

Program includes:

Solaris and Workshop/Forte CD Media
-
Sun Right-to-Use Software Update Service covers one year of
the right to use the Solaris andthe Forte compilers and tools.
Also covers access to Sun's online database and patch service.

Forte Update (Update) covers all updates to compilers and tools
during the renewal period.
Technical support (telephone 24 x 7 x 365) for one named departmental
contact is available by special order.

Users pay an annual right to use fee that must be renewed each July.

The software is licensed to faculty and staff of the
University of Pennsylvania, HUP.
Software must be installed on University-owned systems.

License is sold as an individual copy. One license
per machine.

Pricing and distribution:

CD media is available for newly released versions.

Documentation and support:

User manuals are not included in the license fee.
