Penn Shuttle provides "to door" transportation off-campus within Penn Transit's service area every day of the week between 6pm and 7am. There are 4 different Penn Shuttle routes: East, West, North, and Xtra. You can tell which route a Penn Shuttle is driving by the lit-up "E", "W", "N", or "X" on top of the van.

East ("E") route

East shuttles provide "to door" service in Center City within Penn Transit's service area. They operate Monday through Friday from 1am-3am. On Saturday and Sunday they are in operation from 6pm to 3am. To request an East shuttle from east of campus during these times, call 215-898-RIDE. If you're on-campus, check Penn Transit's schedules and list of Transit Stops and Pickup Points to find out when and where you can get a ride on the East shuttle.

West ("W") route

West shuttles provide "to door" service in West Philadelphia within Penn Transit's service area. They operate every day of the week between 6pm and 3am. To request an West shuttle from west of campus during these times, call 215-898-RIDE. If you're on-campus, check Penn Transit's schedules and list of Transit Stops and Pickup Points to find out when and where you can get a ride on the West shuttle.

North ("N") route

North shuttles provide "to door" service in Powelton Village within Penn Transit's service area. They operate every day of the week between 6pm and 3am. To request a North shuttle from on- or off-campus during these times, call 215-898-RIDE.

Xtra ("X") route

Xtra shuttles provide "to door" service to off-campus areas west of the Schuylkill River not serviced by other Penn Shuttle routes (i.e. the Left Bank, the Penn Ice Rink). The Penn Transit Services dispatcher will determine the need for "X" route service as calls to 215-898-RIDE are received.

From 3am to 7am, a limited on-call service is available. Please call 215-898-RIDE or 8-RIDE from a campus phone during these hours. Waiting times may be longer.
