Penn Dining
Houston Market's new concepts, optional remote ordering and a more inviting environment was recognized with a Gold Loyal E. Horton Award from the National Association of College and University Food Services.
Penn Dining was a significant contributor to Penn receiving the Healthier Campus Initiative of the Partnership for a Healthier America, the first in the Ivy League to achieve this status.
Models of Excellence
The Penn Marketplace Enhancement Team was honored for implementing a comprehensive solution that raised one of the University's essential administrative process, the Procure-to-Pay process, to a higher level of effectiveness. BSD honorees from this 26-member team representing areas across campus include Sandra Ardis, Brian Caputo, LaTayna Carter, Vira Homick, Mark Mills, Grier Nori, and Debbie Schmidt.
The Houston Market Renovation Team was recognized for reinventing the Houston Market space by adding ordering kiosks and charging stations, appealing new food concepts, and enhanced lighting and seating while maintaining its historic properties, and implementing new sustainable practices. BSD awardees include Douglas Berger, Liam Gingrow, Pamela Lampitt, and Tom MacDonald.

Morris Arboretum
Morris Arboretum has received a WeddingWire Couples’ Choice Award® for 2018, recognizing the venue as an ideal setting for weddings. .
On March 14 Morris Arboretum Executive Director Paul Meyer was honored as the 2018 recipient of the Scott Medal and Award from The Scott Arboretum of Swarthmore College. This prestigious award recognizes an individual, organization, or corporate body who, in the opinion of the Selection Committee, has made an outstanding national contribution to the science and the art of gardening.

Penn Purchasing
The National Association of College Auxiliary Services (NACAS) selected the University of Pennsylvania as the recipient of the 2017 Edwin R. Golden Award for Inclusive Excellence for its work on the Penn Supplier Diversity Forum & Expo. This award recognizes exemplary and outstanding service to cultural awareness in the profession of college auxiliary management and the promotion of inclusion in an ongoing fashion, through leadership in the areas of cultural diversity and equality.
Penn Transportation & Parking
The University of Pennsylvania as this year’s recipient of the Clean Air Commute Employer of the Year. Penn was recognized for its Sustainable Transit Initiative and its robust portfolio of commuter programs for University faculty and staff. This recognition comes from an ongoing collaboration between the divisions of Business Services, Facilities and Real Estate Services, and Public Safety.
